This track is dedicated to Maj. Donald C. Mitchell. Maj. Mitchell was Bobo's ninth grade science teacher at NYMA. One day, when assembly call was sounded and all students should be in their seats, the sound of someone running down the hall could be heard, loud and clear. Just as the student was about to reach the classroom door, Maj. Mitchell walked to the door, closed and locked it and pulled down the shade. A second later the student frantically tried opening the door, rattling the handle and knocking on the door. This went on for over a minute. Maj. Mitchell calmly walked to the blackboard, picked up a piece of chalk, and wrote the following: "Only Fools Rattle Locked Doors." After a few more minutes, the student stopped his attempt and could be heard retreating down the hallway. Class then resumed. About a month later, Bobo was late from gym class and ran all the way to the academic building across campus. He ran down the hall just as the door to his science class was being shut. As his hand reached the handle, the words that Maj. Mitchell had written the month before popped into his minds eye...He turned and went back to his room. After getting his homework assignment and class notes from a friend, he dreaded going to class the next day. Nothing was said. He handed in his homework, and saw that he had not been marked absent. He remembers that lesson and those words to this very day. Thanks, Maj.
